Turn your audiobook files into a book you can pick up again.
Use TaleReady to listen to your own DRM-free M4B, M4A, or MP3 files on iPhone. You do not need an Apple Watch, a subscription, or a server for iPhone playback.
Choose the source
If your audiobook is a chaptered M4B file, import the file directly. If it is a set of MP3 or M4A chapter files, keep the chapters together in a folder or select the related files as a group. There is no need to convert supported files just to try TaleReady.
Start with files from the author, publisher, or another source that permits their use. TaleReady supplies a player, not a catalogue of commercial audiobooks. Protected downloads inside Audible, Libby, or other services are not supported imports.
Make files available
Save the source in a location you can open in the Files app on iPhone. If it is in iCloud, the audio must download before import can finish. With a large book, leave time and free storage for both downloading and TaleReady’s managed copy.
Keep your original files as your own backup. TaleReady copies selected audio into its library; its on-device library is not an online backup service.
Import and check the order
Open TaleReady’s add/import controls, choose the file or folder, and review the resulting book before completing import. Check that the title is recognizable and chapters are in listening order. Reorder them if the source names or metadata did not produce the order you expected.
Try the opening and a later chapter. A correctly ordered book is easier to resume than a collection of unrelated tracks. If import takes time, the progress screen distinguishes retrieving files, copying, and analyzing them.
Listen on iPhone
Play the book from your library. TaleReady remembers your position and provides playback speed, bookmarks, a sleep timer, Smart Resume, and optional Voice Boost. You can also use Lock Screen controls or CarPlay.
Import and iPhone listening are free without a library or total listening-time limit. The optional Pro purchase is for additional Apple Watch preparation features; you can use the iPhone player without it.
